At Ohio State University football stadium they have started a zero waste program for the games. They define zero waste as 90% diversion from landfill. Diversion is a technical term in Waste management, broadly speaking it indicates how much waste you can divert from sending to the landfill. By “divert” one means sending waste to compost, recycle, or reuse away from landfill.

Several key preparatory facts turn out in the video that discusses behind the scenes. Great stuff, too bad that the football as a sport is not doing that well at Ohio.
I found this at at Waste and Recycling news website. Seems logical to do at least at entertainment events. Perhaps someone can try it out an IPL game or even better at a local cultural event.
